ART: A cream china saucer with turquoise and gold trim. The flower has a turquoise center, cream blushpetals, and is sealed with gloss medium. The flower was made with Arches paper and Rockwell watercolors.

HISTORY: This plate is marked Minton with an image that indicates its year made. These marks date the plate to from 1881. Minton China's history started when Thomas Minton, an engraver who had studied under Josiah Spode, Josiah Wedgwood, and John Adams, built his first porcelain factory in 1793. Initially, they produced earthenware, and later with the influence of Joseph Poulson, bone china. There is slight wear on the gold due to age.
