Cut paper watercolor collage in metal Nicho frame, 2026

Paper Orchards

is a series of cut paper dioramas that explores how ideas, memories, and comfort grow over time. Built from fragments of watercolor paper, each complex layer represents the accumulation of thoughts and shelter found within creative spaces.

The physical boundaries of these pieces are formed by frames gifted to me by a friend, originally gathered by her late mother. By housing my work within her cherished collection, the series becomes a tactile conversation across generations—a way of passing down an inherited love for collecting in a wild world. Through the delicate interplay of birds, fruit, nests, layers, and hand-cut strata, Paper Orchards transforms forgotten elements into a vibrant, nested ecosystem of rebirth.
