I found a man’s entire stamp collection at the bottom of a box at an estate sale.

Hundreds of stamps, sorted by theme, country, and imagery.

Handwritten notes on glassine envelopes.

A lifetime of tiny, careful decisions — almost thrown away.

Around the same time, I was cleaning out my previous art studio.

Stacks of sketches, doodles, practice paintings, mental exercises —

the things some may not see as valuable.

My own quiet archive.

I realized his stamps and my scraps belonged together.

Two collections that meant everything to their makers.

So I began cutting, layering, and weaving them into collages.

A way to honor what once was,

to say goodbye to an old chapter,

and to let these small treasures finally be seen.
